Latest Club News

2010-2011

Before we write about the coming season Hayle RFC would like to say thankyou to Cullam Osborne for his services over the last two years. He brought a unity to both first and second team and made them a squad again. He worked extremely hard in season and off season and will hopefully continue to play his rugby at the club.

The coming season has already seen some hugely exciting signings on the field and a restructure of the coaching staff!

Danny Clackworthy stays on but becomes head coach, Leon Pohe will still play for the club but is also our Colts Coach and backs coach.

Rob Elloway from the Cornish Pirates has become our forwards coach. Rob is a level two coach and has shown a huge commitment so far this pre-season bringing a professional attitude coming straight from the Pirates training ground to the club so he can set out his sessions!! A commitment we hope is echoed by the players.

Steve Evans has joined as Player/Coach from Redruth. Steve has been involved at the highest level, playing for many years with the Pirates,Mounts Bay and most recently Redruth. He is looking to make an impact on the playing field this season with his agressive running and tackling style and also off the field as he coaches the backs along side Leon Pohe.

Tom Outram,Richard Humpries,Neal Turner and Aran Benton all join from St Ives RFC.Four players who will bring a wealth of experience and talent to the club.

Other new signings include Shane Poynton(redruth), Chris Hale(Redruth), Scott Lake(Veor).

Some of the old guard return as Kevin Jenkins will play again for the club and Paul Carter. Both players have a much needed competetive attitude and have played for the club for many years so it is great to see their return along with Doug Arnull who has been our best trainer over the preseason so far.

Our pre-season friendlies are against Newquay Hornets on 21st August(Kick off 3pm) and Pirates Ams on 26th(kick off 7pm).  Our first league game is against St Austell on September 4th.

Good luck to everyone involved at the club this year.
